So here’s another tool i use ‘OpenDns’ this bit of clever stuff blocks access to unwanted websites making it a bit more safer for my kids.

How does it work? Well you sign up for “FREE” (home use) at www.opendns.org once you have an account, you can then configure your router at home (which looks to be the best method) then you may need to download a lil piece of software (if you don’t have a static ip address) just to keep your settings up to date.

It basically routes your DNS through their servers (DNS is the thing that tells your computer where the website is) and filters out the stuff you just don’t want on your computers…

It also has stats and loads of other bits -It’s quite simple to setup, and easy to administer, the opendns site has all the instructions you need…

This is also used for schools and business alike as well as for home use… i highly recommend this..
