Ok not so long ago we were all using dialup to get on to the internet at speeds of 33.6k Wahoo. then out came the new dialup speed of 56k which was the VModem. Technology advances. Then came along ISDN offering a whopping 64k up and down (they called it 128k) and then came along “Broadband” offering me speeds of 512k.. Now this is where the story ends for some people as the advances in the rural areas just stopped and that’s where they are now.. Built up areas started to get advances in broadband with speeds “UP TO” 20Mb being offered when realistically you got about 2Mb if you were lucky
However in my area BT came along offering the “BT Infinity” fibre service and ooh i snapped it up in an instant. With speeds of 40Mb downloads and uploads of 10Mb i just couldn’t resist.
So what difference has it made? Well my kids can download their games and music, the wife can be on eBay, Facebook & email i can work from home all at the same time also we can all use Skype & VoIP without it going slow. We can now watch HD films streamed from the net via the Xbox and much much more.
Quite simply if it’s in your area signup for it you’ll love the speed..
